I think moving on from Tortorella is the right move. The timing, though, is very strange to me. Why now with only eight games left in the season? Was this really that urgent?

The John Tortorella experience was a wild one. I think it was clear he was not the right coach to lead the Flyers when they were ready to start competing again. Don’t think his tenure was necessarily bad, because he did bring some positive changes. But it was time.

The Flyers are on pace to give up 10 goals to the Chicago Blackhawks today. The Blackhawks averaged 2.64 goals per game on the season coming into this outing.
