Tennessee baseball’s major turnover on the mound continued Monday as seven more Vol pitchers officially entered the portal. Michael Sharman, Andrew DuMont, Dane Bjorn, Tanner Wiggins, Brayden May, Luke Payne and Stratton Scott were the latest to enter the portal Monday. The Vols have now lost an incredibly 16 pitchers to the transfer portal this offseason after a 2025 season where Tennessee’s bullpen struggled and ahead of the upcoming roster limits with the House Settlement.

Another college baseball season has come and gone as LSU reclaimed its spot atop the college baseball world Sunday, knocking off Coastal Carolina to win the 2025 national championship. The official end of the season means Tennessee’s run as the reigning national champion is now over. Tony Vitello’s squad had the best title defense of any recent champion, posting a 46-19 (16-14 SEC) record and returning to the super regional for the fifth straight time.

Four-star linebacker TJ White is down to four schools and will announce his college commitment next week, 247sports’ Tom Loy first reported Sunday. White has cut his list down to Auburn, Florida State, Mississippi State and Tennessee and plans on announcing his college commitment on July 1. The Jackson native ranks as a four-star recruit and the No. 113 player in the country according to the 247sports composite rankings.

The NJCAA named Tennessee baseball commit Tyler Myatt its player of the year Monday. Myatt earned national JUCO player of the year honors after a phenomenal season where he helped lead Walter State to the national championship series. The utility man put up insane numbers in his redshirt freshman season at Walters State. In 66 games, Myatt hit .484 with 31 home runs and 110 RBIs. The left-handed hitter broke the Senators’ single-season home run and RBI records.

Four-star wing Gage Mayfield arrives at Tennessee Monday night for an official visit that lasts until Wednesday. It’s Mayfield’s first visit to Tennessee and his first official visit of the recruiting process. Mayfield ranks as a four-star recruit and the No. 110 player in the country according to the 247sports composite rankings. The 6-foot-7, 190-pound wing ranks as the top prospect in the state of Alabama and the No. 29 small forward nationally in the 2026 recruiting cycle.
