SAN ANTONIO — A Red Flag Warning is now in effect for a large part of South-Central Texas on Friday and Saturday, including San Antonio and the Hill Country. Our typical first 90° day is around April 7 on any given year. This is earlier than usual!Regardless, it will be hot and sunny Friday. Expect lower 90s Friday afternoon with wind speeds increasing.

    SAN ANTONIO — Winds will ramp up in speed through the weekend as a cold front moves through Texas on Saturday. This will elevate our fire concern given EXTREME drought that is currently widespread across South Central Texas. Wind speeds will gust over 30 MPH at times from Friday to Sunday. Avoid outdoor burning and driving over tall grass. LOW humidity and strong winds will create critical fire weather. Be safe!

    SAN ANTONIO — If you can stay up late Thursday night, be sure to look at the moon! A full moon will light up the night sky at night. Then, just a few hours later, a total lunar eclipse will occur! A lunar eclipse occurs when the Earth falls in between the sun and moon relative to their positions in space. This results in a shadow being casted onto the moon's surface. This leads to a reddish color creating a total lunar eclipse. Again, this will happen LATE while most are asleep.

SAN ANTONIO — A Red Flag Warning has been issued for a huge part of Texas Tuesday afternoon. This includes San Antonio and the Hill Country. Wind gusts will go over 40 MPH Tuesday. With dry air, low humidity and strong winds, this will create a favorable environment for fire weather.
