It was one helluva 2025 season for Panola County high school baseball teams. Carthage, Beckville and Gary all made it to their respective regional semifinals with the Bulldogs making it to Game 3 of the 4A Division II Region II finals and the Bearcats the 2A D-II Region III finals.

MARSHALL — For a team that kept on exceeding expectations during the postseason, the Carthage Bulldogs baseball team never gave in even when Spring Hill’s Grant Burton delivered a crushing blow. Carthage went from being underdogs in each postseason round — including this one — to coming within a break or two away from defeating the No. 2 ranked team in 4A.

MARSHALL — The Carthage Bulldogs baseball team knew exactly who they were facing and what they would be up against in the Spring Hill Panthers, a team that hadn’t lost a game in exactly two months coming into Thursday’s game. “They are a great team and had won 16-straight before this but all good things have to come to an end,” Carthage senior Cade Moore said. The senior made sure of that personally.

EMORY — Cade Ross threw a complete game two-hit shutout to lead the way as the Carthage Bulldogs baseball team defeated Kennedale 8-0 to sweep the best-of-three 4A Division II regional semifinals matchup on Saturday afternoon at Emory Rains High. Ross didn’t allow a single walk and struck out two in his complete game gem. The junior who didn’t have a three-ball count all game and threw just 64 pitches said getting three runs in the top of the first inning gave him his early confidence.
