    JACKSON COUNTY, Wis. (WKBT) -- A Jackson County jury has convicted a Black River Falls man of sexual assault and kidnapping following a three-day trial that concluded Friday. According to a press release, 53-year-old Paul A. Sylvester was convicted on six charges: second-degree sexual assault, kidnapping, false imprisonment, operating a motor vehicle without owner's consent, theft and disorderly conduct, according to court records.

    EAU CLAIRE (WKBT) -- Xcel Energy crews have made significant progress restoring power to more than 20,000 customers in northwestern Wisconsin after severe thunderstorms swept through the region, but some residents will remain without electricity until the weekend. The storms, which brought strong winds and golf ball-sized hail Thursday evening and early Friday morning, caused extensive damage to power infrastructure in Clark, Marathon and Rusk counties, according to Xcel Energy officials.
