After seeing storms yesterday (Tuesday) there is a chance for more storms today (Wednesday). Unlike yesterday’s evening storms these storms will be during the daytime. Meteorologist with the Springfield National Weather Service Mark Burchfield says there will be two rounds of storms. Burchfield says one of those storms will be more severe than the other.

There were numerous tornado and severe thunderstorm warnings throughout the night and early morning. Director of the Laclede County Management Randy Rowe tells regional radio news about some debris that was left over after the severe storms. Rowe has some tips to stay safe in case of severe storms. Rowe says he is glad no one was injured, and that there was no severe damage.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has a new campaign. May is usually the start of riding season, and NHTSA wants to remind riders to be safe. Following safe driving, and riding practices and sharing them with others can help reduce the number of motorcyclist fatalities on America’s roads.

The Missouri Department of Transportation is working on some lane closures in Phelps County. Contractors are planning on resurfacing several ramps alongside Interstate 44 in Phelps County. This is part of MoDOT’s large project to resurface and reconstruct the lanes of I-44 from west of Rolla to St. James. Ramps in both directions in the Rolla and Doolittle area will be closed. KJEL Radio’s Ryan Waelterman has the breakdown of when people can expect construction and traffic.

The Nixa Police Department has issued an Endangered Silver Advisory. The incident occurred at 1111 Care Avenue in Nixa Missouri at 11 a.m. Sunday, May 5. The missing adult is Andrew J. Fecko. Fecko is a 62-year-old white male who stands 5 foot 7 inches and weighs 135 Ibs. He has gray hair, hazel eyes, and was last seen wearing a black ball cap, black leather jacket, blue jean shorts, and gray socks.
