This column is generally organized alphabetically, but in the interest of reflecting on this year and looking ahead to next year's drafts today's column is in the order of the National League East's standings as of September 20. Philadelphia PhilliesThe Phillies have been in first place of the National League East for most of the 2024 season and the bad news for the division is that they are bringing almost the entire band back in 2025.

Oakland AthleticsThe A’s head into a hectic offseason that will see the team relocate to Sacramento for a few seasons. So, it should come as no surprise that the Braves are mixing things up a bit.

Detroit TigersSpencer Torkelson (1B, DET) is showing some positive signs at AAA-Toledo and could be on the verge of returning to the major league roster. Since July 23, the 24-year-old has slashed .320/.422/.722 with 5 HR and 20 RBI in 64 PA. Torkelson has a 62% ct% during that stretch and has been helped by a 38% h%, but he has also drawn 11 walks. He has shown better contact skills compared to his time in the majors, even this season when his .201 BA and .193 xBA were accompanied by a 73% ct%.
