    SALEM Ore. (KPTV) - Senate Bill 110, which secures funding for a potential MLB stadium in Portland, passed the Oregon House on Tuesday. The bill passed with a 46-6 vote, and now heads to Governor Tina Kotek’s office for signature. SB 110 passed the Oregon Senate in April with a 24-5 vote. The bill, introduced by state senator Mark Meek, authorizes up to $800 million in privately backed-bonds to support the construction of a ballpark in Portland.

    PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) - The Rip City Remix named Jonah Herscu as the team’s next head coach on Tuesday. Herscu spent the past three seasons with the Portland Trail Blazers, the parent club of the G League Remix, as an assistant under coach Chauncey Billups. He also served as the teams’ Summer League coach the past two seasons. Prior to his time in Portland, Herscu spent time with the Sacramento Kings, Los Angeles Lakers, and Chicago Bulls of the NBA, as well as time coaching in the G League and WNBA.

    CORVALLIS Ore. (KPTV) - The Oregon State Beavers will open College World Series play against the Louisville Cardinals on Friday, the NCAA announced Monday. The Beavers are making their first trip to Omaha since 2018, where they won their third national championship, and eighth trip overall to college baseball’s grandest stage. Oregon State defeated Florida State in three games in the Super Regionals over the weekend to clinch their spot.

(KPTV) - The Linfield Wildcats saw their record-setting 2025 season come to a close on Sunday, falling to Trine University 10-9 in walk-off fashion in the semifinal round of the NCAA Division III Softball Championship Finals. Despite holding three separate leads of three runs against the Trine Thunder, and leading 9-6 heading to the bottom of the seventh, the Wildcats allowed three runs in the seventh to send the game to extra-innings.

    SEATTLE Wash. (KPTV) - The Seattle Mariners will retire baseball hall-of-famer Randy Johnson’s number 51 during the 2026 season, the team announced Monday. The announcement comes on the the 35th anniversary of Johnson’s no-hitter against the Detroit Tigers in 1990, the first in franchise history. Johnson was acquired by the team from the Montreal Expos in 1989, and was a five-time All-Star during his tenure in Seattle.
