PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) - Five-time NBA all-star and Lake Oswego native Kevin Love returned to Portland on Tuesday to honor the Regis High School star who broke his state scoring record this season. Koehnke broke Love’s OSAA basketball career scoring record, set in 2007, during a 2A state tournament game last month. The jacket commemorates Koehnke’s new record, and has a special message from Love in the jacket’s lining.

CORVALLIS Ore. (KPTV) - Oregon State senior gymnast and Olympic gold medalist Jade Carey has qualified in the all-around for the NCAA Women’s Gymnastics Championships, the NCAA announced Monday. Carey has appeared at the championships in each of her four seasons with the Beavers, earning a silver medal in the all-around and floor routine last year. This season, Carey earned four 10s in her last four appearances, and finished the regular season ranked No. 1 in both the all-around and on the beam.

PRINCE GEORGE British Columbia. (KPTV) - The Portland Winterhawks defeated the Prince George Cougars 4-2 in Game 7 of their series on Monday night to advance to the second round of the WHL Playoffs. The Cougars bounced back from a 3-1 series deficit to force the winner-take-all Game 7 at the CN Centre. After an early Cougars goal from Terik Parascak, Alex Weiermair tied the game for Portland 1-1, 12 minutes into the first period.
