    MILWAUKEE — The Waukesha County Sheriff's Department is investigating the in-hospital death of a 49-year-old Shorewood man who had been in custody at the Milwaukee County Jail. According to the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO), the man had been in custody since Friday, March 14, when Shorewood police brought him in on three criminal charges. MCSO said that on Monday evening, March 17, a Wellpath nurse observed the man experiencing a health crisis and initiated emergency protocols.

    According to the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office, an adult female is dead following an incident on I-43 northbound near Fond Du Lac Ave. The medical examiner says they responded to the deadly incident around 4:30 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 26. According to a notification from WisDOT released at 4:38 a.m. all lanes on I-43 northbound at Fond Du Lac Ave were closed due to a crash. Lanes reopened around 8:10 a.m. according to WisDOT.

    MILWAUKEE — An 80-year-old man died early Sunday morning after an overnight fall on a sidewalk in Milwaukee's Walker Square neighborhood. According to the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office, the cause of death is likely hypothermia. An initial investigation determined the man fell on a sidewalk near 12th and Orchard at around 2 a.m. It’s believed he may have become incapacitated due to the weather. He was found at that location just before 7 a.m. and pronounced dead.

    CUDAHY, Wis. — A child was critically injured in a crash that shut down I-794 southbound in Cudahy on Friday. The Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office reported that I-794 was closed at the request of the Cudahy Fire Department to allow first responders to attend to the child, who was injured near the end of the Pennsylvania Avenue off-ramp. The child was transported to the hospital in critical but stable condition, according to the Sheriff's Office.

    The man accused of killing his own grandmother and then entering into a standoff with police has made his first court appearance. Sean Couture, 24, appeared in a Waukesha County Courtroom Thursday afternoon. He's facing three charges:First degree intentional homicide, domestic abuse, use of a dangerous weapon, a felonyFailure to comply with officer's attempt to take person into custody, a felony, and, Possession of a firearm while intoxicated, a misdemeanor.
