Columbus High's Bella Larsen, Lexus Hill and Callen Heule took the field for the final time as high schoolers in Wednesday's Central Community College All-Star Game. Larsen and Hill played on the Green Team and squared off against Heule and the Silver Team. Both teams won one game each with Silver rallying for a 9-5 win in Game 1 and Green prevailing 10-0 in Game 2. Larsen led off for the Green Team and hit 1-for-3 with a double, three RBIs, a stolen base and a run scored. It was so, so fun.

Aquinas Catholic sophomore Dayne Jakub wasn't fazed by the stage in his first appearance at the NSAA Class C Boys State Golf Championship at Jackrabbit Run Golf Course in Grand Island, sitting in a medal position after day one on May 28. On Thursday, Jakub struggled on the back nine and finished the tournament in a tie for 28th. "I thought he did really well on (May 28).

COLUMBUS — Clarkson/Leigh freshman Trevor Hoffman and junior Parker Sayers debuted at the NSAA Class D Boys State Golf Championship on May 28-29 at Quail Run Golf Course. Hoffman bounced back from a tough day one to tie for 55th, shooting a 186 over the two days. Sayers battled through some day-two struggles carding a 188 for a tie of 62nd. "They did pretty well. Very tough course," Clarkson/Leigh head coach Connor Blum said.

DAVID CITY — Platte Center Post 283 Bank of the Valley Lakeview Seniors broke out offensively for the first time this season in Sunday's road contest at David City. Lakeview, who opened the season with a pair of 9-1 defeats, plated 14 runs on 15 hits from nine different hitters as it fended off David City for a 14-9 win. "We needed to get on the right side of things there," Seniors head coach Mike Sloup said.
