The Discoverers squandered four runs in the second inning, which proved to be enough for the Mustangs as they fended off a seventh-inning rally for a 4-3 win. "We never quit. We talked to the guys there at the end that we showed so much growth throughout the year," Columbus head coach John Riedmiller said.

Twin River baseball headed to Fort Calhoun for the District C-3 Tournament semifinals on Thursday, looking to extend its season. The Titans were down to their final out against Lincoln Lutheran in the top of the seventh trailing 1-0. A leadoff single, a stolen base and a balk put junior Aden Feezell 90 feet away from scoring the tying run. Titans sophomore Braxtin Fowler lined a game-tying single to force extra innings.
