Reviews are mixed on the 2024 Toyota bZ4X, the only all-electric offering from Toyota. Introduced for the 2023 model year, it’s similar to the Toyota RAV4 (which is available as a plug-in hybrid) and is almost identical to the Subaru Solterra. The bZ4X (a quirky name at best) is a small to midland SUV with decent interior space, provided bodies and purchases don’t get too big. Starting at $43K US, it’s pricier than most similar EVs. Range is about 250 miles on a single charge, which is okay.

Those who need and want an Electric Vehicle (as well as something that isn’t too small or too luxurious) will want to check out the brand-new 2024 Honda Prologue. Comparable to the Honda Passport, this is a midsized SUV that can hold four Bears comfortably – and maybe five Bears with comfort for short distances. It has the same platform as the Chevy Blazer and is overall a very sturdy vehicle. Electric Vehicles, or EVs, have come a long way in terms of comfort and practicality.

Randy Shilts, an American author who chronicled hate and homophobia throughout the 20th Century, died of complications due to AIDS in 1994 at age 43, when he was at the top of his game. If you need a workhorse that also offers some of the refinements of 21st Century living, the 2024 Chevy Traverse is definitely worth your consideration. The competition in this area (like the Hyundai Santa Fe and Honda Pilot) is fierce.  What makes the Traverse notable is its starting price and considerable interior room. Leave the third-row seats up (yes, there is a third row, but I would advise against most bears using it), and you will get 23 cubic feet to haul all your holiday packages away.

Your ultimate 4-Wheel Drive vehicle that isn’t as big as a shipping container? How about the 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser, a sturdy, handsome beast that gets the love but also needs you to pay attention to it. Especially while driving. Situated in the Toyota lineup, right in between the 4Runner and the Sequoia, the completely-redesigned Land Cruiser is considered a midsized SUV, but never be fooled by labels (on cars or on people).
