The Armed Guard drill team was up against the best teams from across the country. They put on a fantastic drill routine, winning the competition and are now National Champions. The cadets do a 15 minute drill routine where they are scored on their uniforms, technical ability, synchronised movements and overall performance. They all looked incredibly smart in their uniforms and performed a faultless routine.

The FA Cup match-day experience feels pleasingly different for fans used to the Premier League standard – in some ways it is a welcome blast from the past, a simpler form of entertainment: Cheaper tickets, more away fans, and – up to the fifth round at least – no VAR. We did still get the somewhat annoying fireworks and vertical flame-throwers as the teams came out for Brighton’s home tie with Chelsea, although, to be fair, my six-year-old loves that.
