EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Del Valle High School softball won two games in a row on Saturday to take the best-of-three series victory over Abilene Wylie in the Class 5A Division II area round of the 2025 UIL Texas high school softball playoffs. After it lost the series opener on Friday, Del Valle battled back to win both Game 2 and 3 of the series. In Game 3, Remi Barron scored an inside-the-park home run to give Del Valle a 6-5 lead. Barron’s run ended up being the difference maker in the contest.

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Eight El Paso-area high school runners collected medals on the final day of the at the 2025 UIL Track and Field State Meet at Mike A. Myers Track & Soccer Stadium in Austin, Texas. Eastwood High School’s Danny Torres ran his way to a second-place finish in the 6A boys 3200m final on Saturday. Torres was edged out by Southlake Carroll’s Caden Leonard by 0.3 seconds. Torres finished with an 8:58.28 time. Leonard, who won the race, finished with an 8:57.98 time.

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — In the third Derby Del Camino Real of the 2025 season, El Paso Locomotive FC played its way to a 3-0 win over New Mexico United in a USL Championship match at Southwest University Park. “I was so proud of the intensity that we put on the field: the performance individually and collectively,” Locomotive FC head coach Wilmer Cabrera said post match.
