A Lake County attorney who last year won election to serve as a district court judge has pleaded "not guilty" to a trio of drug charges filed by state prosecutors. Kenneth Britton “Britt” Cotter, 48, pleaded not guilty to one count of solicitation to commit criminal distribution of dangerous drugs and not guilty to two counts of attempted possession of dangerous drugs. All three are felonies.

A St. Regis man is in custody after a reported multiple stabbing Monday that hospitalized all three victims, both of whom remain in critical condition, according to Mineral County Sheriff Ryan Funke. The suspect has not yet been charged with any crimes, but faces three possible counts of attempted deliberate homicide, Ryan said in a phone interview Tuesday. He is in custody at the Mineral County Detention Center.
