Right-handed pitcher Chase Dollander (No. 1 PuRP) made his highly-anticipated MLB debut on April 6th against the Athletics. The 2023 ninth-overall pick pitched solidly, tossing five innings and allowing four runs (all earned on two home runs) with one walk and six strikeouts in the Colorado Rockies’ 12-5 victory. Dollander took the ball again on Saturday against the San Diego Padres, throwing another solid game.

Tonight was an exciting one! Not only did the Colorado Rockies score, but they also hit a home run! They also got to 10 home runs on the season, so overall it was a better hitting day. Unfortunately, though, the pitching struggled again and the Rockies ended up losing 5-3. Senza struggles earlyAntonio Senzatela was not sharp tonight. After giving up a leadoff single to Shohei Ohtani, Senzatela gave up a first-pitch home run to Mookie Betts to put the Dodgers up 2-0 early.

Good news: The Colorado Rockies don’t have to play the San Diego Padres again tonight. Bad news: They instead have to play the Los Angeles Dodgers. After being shut out in three-straight games for the first time in franchise history, the Rox will look to turn a page in Chavez Ravine. Luckily for them, the Dodgers have also lost back-to-back games against the Chicago Cubs. On Saturday, they were handed their worst shutout loss in franchise history (a 16-0 clubbing), and lost 4-2 again last night.

After giving up another early home run — a solo leadoff homer to Fernando Tatís, Jr. — Dollander really settled into a rhythm again. He retired the next six Padres before walking Manny Machado, but then didn’t allow him to score by retiring the next seven batters.
