Important work is already underway and with continued collective action, the U.S. health sector can improve health outcomes by reducing emissions, including providing high-quality and preventative care, and educating people on the health impacts of climate change.

Today the National Academy of Medicine’s (NAM) Climate Communities Network (CCN) released a new project visually depicting local priorities related to climate change, health, and equity from communities across the United States. Launched last year, the CCN is building a collective and community-driven effort to amplify innovation, drive resources, inform policy, and co-design solutions to address local climate-related health inequities.

Today the National Academy of Medicine’s (NAM) Climate Communities Network (CCN)—a dynamic effort to co-develop and drive local solutions to climate-related health inequities—announced that 18 Members and 11 Strategic Partners are participating in the project’s inaugural cohort. Together, they will amplify community voices and living experiences and leverage community expertise to address the structural drivers of climate-related health inequities at the local level.
