INTRODUCTIONAntimicrobial resistance has become a leading cause of death globally and is estimated to result in about 3,500 deaths per day (1). In addition, resistant Gram-negative infections are associated with higher hospital costs, length of hospital and ICU stay, and increased mortality (2). Of these, infections caused by Acinetobacter spp. remain one of the most important unmet medical needs (3).
