FAIRVIEW, Ala. — Fairview senior cheerleader Lona Latham cheered for a combined 10 years between high school and her time at the Cullman Gymnastics and Cheer Academy (CGCA) and in this interview she shared some of her favorite memories cheering alongside her friends. “My favorite part of cheerleading is the thrill of competing against other great squads. I also enjoyed getting to be a part of the amazing atmosphere at the pep rallies before the games,” Latham said.

BREMEN, Ala. — After clinching a spot in the playoffs last week, the Cold Springs Eagles looked to keep the momentum going at home against Meek on Monday afternoon. Cold Springs took the early lead in the first inning and never relinquished it as they went on to defeat Meek 13-3. The Eagles struck first in the bottom of the first inning. They quickly put runners on the corners to lead off the inning, and back-to-back RBI singles by Cooper Johnson and Matt Williams gave them a 2-0 lead.

CULLMAN, Ala. – Cullman hosted its annual Pre-State Tournament at Heritage Park and Cullman High School this weekend and Good Hope had a busy Saturday on the diamond as well. Cullman 4 – Brookwood 1 (Friday)Brookwood collected the first run of the game in the bottom of the second, as an error allowed them to take the 1-0 lead. After being shutout for the first three innings, Cullman’s offense got something going in the top of the fourth.

GOOD HOPE, Ala. – The Good Hope Lady Raiders hosted the West Point for county championship rematch on Tuesday afternoon and it was close for most of the contest, but a huge sixth inning from the Raiders helped propel them to a 12-2 win over the Warriors. After a scoreless first inning, West Point got on the scoreboard first in the top of the second. Kealie Harbison drew a two-out walk, and Averee Folds followed that up with a single to center field to put runners on the corners.
