Friday was a bad day for terrorists, but a good day for victims. The Supreme Court upheld a law that allows Americans injured by acts of terror in the Middle East to take Palestinian leadership groups to U.S. courts for damages. As The Hill reported, this means lawsuits by U.S. victims of terrorist attacks in Israel can move forward here.

Dear Dr. John,Our female Pointer X is almost 7 years old, and our male dog is a 1 1/2-year-old Hound X. We just had both dogs examined by a vet. Luckily, both are in good health, but the young male dog did have a peculiar finding: oral papillomas. The vet commented that he did not typically see the findings in dogs that age since it was usually found in puppies and dogs under a year of age. What is your experience with these lesions?

The state is moving closer to signing off on Amsterdam-style pot cafes in Massachusetts, but what will this entrepreneurial win mean for safety on Bay State roads? Right now, as the Herald reported, the Cannabis Control Commission is in the rule-drafting stage. The projected costs for a new, improved White Stadium keep piling up, but that doesn’t mean the numbers add up. Mayor Michelle Wu said she expects the city’s costs for its half of the professional women’s soccer stadium renovation project to exceed its previous $91 million estimate. But she disputed her opponent Josh Kraft’s revelation that taxpayers would be on the hook for $172 million, even thought the figure came from an internal city document.

Americans unhappy with President Donald Trump’s second term have taken to wishing for something they shouldn’t. If only the U.S. Treasury bond market were to crash, the thinking goes, then Trump would be forced to change his policies. Bond traders could simply knock down the whole economic house of cards and then, presto! Goodbye to tariffs and hello to fiscal responsibility. Time for a reality check: First, a bond market crash would be a disaster that would cost Americans dearly for years to come.

Dear Dr. John,My cat is now 19, and two years ago she was diagnosed by my vet as having hyperthyroidism. I opted to give her medication by transdermal means instead of orally. We have her blood tested every six months to make sure that everything is at stable levels and that all other parameters are normal. Does that seem right? I ask because she always gets stressed out by having her blood drawn. She has also had a low-grade heart murmur going back even longer than her thyroid condition.

Partisan mudslinging has reached a new low as politicians label President Trump “Hitler,” and his supporters “Nazis.” In doing so, they cheapen the massive horrors and unimaginable suffering of the Holocaust. It’s one thing to dislike Trump, to call out federal funding cuts, and to be disturbed by the heavy-handed tactics of ICE when arresting illegal immigrants before deportation. But to equate that with the actions of an evil madman betrays a shocking and sad ignorance of history.
