This April, Ave Maria welcomes a new restaurant to the Midtown Plaza that is sure to please Asian food connoisseurs. Umami Ave is the brainchild of Jason Cao, a self-taught chef eager to share his favorite dishes inspired by Vietnamese, Thai, Cambodian and Japanese cuisine. Decorated with live plants and artistic photographs of Vietnamese life, the restaurant will seat about 50 people in tables and booths. “Ever since I was a kid, I always wanted to open a restaurant,” Cao recalled.
