Christopher M. Kramer, MD The large, double-blind, 2x2 factorial study showed that neither colchicine nor spironolactone were beneficial in the acute MI population. If these patients don’t have frank HF, they may have asymptomatic LV dysfunction, and they are well-treated with other medications such as ACE inhibitors and statins.
