1 INTRODUCTION Collaborative learning (CL) is a dynamic process where individuals engage collectively to solve problems and construct shared understandings. As defined by Roschelle and Teasley (1995, p. 70), ‘it is a coordinated, synchronous activity aiming to maintain a shared conception of a problem’.
