A dermatite atópica ou eczema atópico consiste numa doença inflamatória crónica da pele que geralmente tem início durante a primeira infância. Estima-se que afete cerca de 10% a 20% das crianças e está geralmente associada a história familiar ou pessoal de doença alérgica. É mais frequente nos países desenvolvidos e a sua prevalência tem vindo a aumentar. O diagnóstico é clínico, ou seja, não são precisos exames, basta a observação médica.
