A report from Insurify , a national insurance data collection group, found that Florida homeowners pay the most of any state for insurance, with an average annual rate of nearly $11,000 in 2023. When asked for evidence to support this statement, a DeSantis spokesperson pointed to a Jan. 21 S&P Global report about U.S. homeowners insurance rate changes.
