    Recently I heard someone say that the amount of information and news we take on in a day must be the equivalent to what our ancestors would get in a full calendar year, and it got me thinking about life, art, and human connection. It seems that in the age of post-pandemic self-importance, we’ve forgotten that the people on the other side of the screen are just that, people. People with flaws, doubts, thoughts, goals, and opinions.

    As many of you know, I recently made the puzzling decision to try my first espresso martini.  I was meeting up with a new friend, Miriam, and I couldn't convince her to try one with me and I'll never forgive her for that. Are you reading this, Miriam? Never. The now-viral video (29 views) of me taking my first sip received many comments, likes and shares, including one such person who told me I'd be up all night. To which I replied, "caffeine has no effect on me." I haven't slept in three days.
