2 1/1 Town drivers who have been plagued by roadworks are about to experience another wave, with 16-mile diversions put in place. Coped Hall roundabout is a busy commuter road in and out of Royal Wootton Bassett, but is known among residents for being "riddled with potholes." At the beginning of 2025, Wiltshire Council announced roadworks at the site would be ongoing until 2026, as part of a £7 million project to make the A3102 safer.

A group of TikTokers have filmed themselves breaking into a closed Swindon hotel. Alexandra House in Wroughton was closed for good in February 2024 and was described as a huge blow to Swindon. But while the building might now seem abandoned, it is actually manned and used regularly by Wiltshire Police as a training centre for raids and investigations.

Fyndlay Ayliffe, known to his family and friends as Fyn, was described by his family as "bright", "talented" and a "high achiever". Wall smashed in car crash finally repaired six months after arrest

A park wall which was left broken after a car smashed into it in 2024 has now been repaired, six months on. The crash which took place on Faringdon Road, Swindon, in October 2024 saw the boundary wall around GWR Park knocked out of place. Emergency services attended the scene at the time and arrested the driver on suspicion of drink driving. Since then, South Swindon Parish Council, which manages the park, has been working hard to try and get the wall repaired.

The New Inn pub, in Stratton St Margaret, closed its doors on December 25, 2024, following warnings that it had been struggling. Former landlord of the Arkells-owned pub, Adam Clay, claimed that the pub was "losing money hand-over-fist" during the Euros 2024 and had not made profit in over a year.
