The independent house builder wants to construct 88 homes on the eastern edge of Holt, between Bradford-on-Avon and Melksham. In February, Wiltshire Council's western area planning committee rejected the reserved matters application for 90 houses at land off Melksham Road, with local Wiltshire councillor Trevor Carbin branding the design as “basically ugly”.

Stop Lime Down will be walking through the countryside around Malmesbury to protest against plans for a 2,220-acre solar farm spread across six locations around Hullavington, Stanton St Quintin, Sherston, and Luckington. The company behind the Lime Down scheme is Island Green Power, which was last month acquired by former Thames Water owner Macquarie Asset Management.
