To the Editor:I am running for Town of Old Lyme Tax Collector because I believe in this town and I am the right person to update Old Lyme’s Tax Office now. Our town has an admirable tax collection rate – 99 percent, one of the highest in the state. I’m excited to update our systems and to make it easier for taxpayers to pay their taxes. I have the character, qualifications and commitment to do this.

To the Editor:Many have heard of the “incumbency effect”, which is attributed in part to those officials’ name recognition. According to a study by Cindy D. Kam and Elizabeth J. Zechmeister published in the American Journal of Political Science in 2013, just a three-day subliminal exposure to a candidate’s name can increase support for the politician. That is why I want to introduce two worthy East Lyme community members NEW to seeking office.
