Yorke Peninsula Country Times May 13 2025 AFTER serving for seven years in local government, Yorke Peninsula Council Mayor Darren Braund has resigned partway through his second term due to personal reasons. His resignation is effective immediately, and Deputy Mayor Richard Carruthers will serve as Acting Mayor until further notice. "I thank the community of Yorke Peninsula for entrusting me with the great privilege of being your mayor," Mayor Braund said.
