For many stolen generations survivors, Sorry Day is an acknowledgement of their experiences and the continuing impact of forced removal from community and family. This day also marks the 28th anniversary of the tabling of the Bringing them home report in to Parliament in 1997.

The Yorke and Northern Local Health Network is advising the community to stay home and stay safe, after The Bureau of Meteorology has issued a Severe Weather Warning for damaging winds across parts South Australia with gusts over 100 kilometres an hour likely. These winds have the potential to bring down trees and powerlines, as well as reduce visibility from disturbance of dust.
