AbstractBackground: Heart failure (HF) is a risk factor for stroke among people with atrial fibrillation (AF). Prognosis following a HF diagnosis is often poor, but this is not accounted for in existing stroke risk scores. Strengths and limitationsTo our knowledge, this was the largest population-based analysis of serious adverse events associated with antihypertensive therapy conducted to date [15], and the first to examine how these associations vary by age and frailty.
