Paige Bueckers, who is coming off a national championship win with UConn, was drafted No. 1 overall to the Dallas Wings on Monday night. The Wings clinched the first pick of the draft after an unsuccessful 9-31 season. Bueckers will join the squad alongside four other rookies and a new head coach. Chris Koclanes was hired by the Wings in December. In Bueckers’ 2022-23 season, she suffered an ACL tear that kept her on the sidelines for the entire season.

As a Jayhawk, he shot 75.6% from the field, including a school record of 21 consecutive made shots from Dec. 1 to Feb. 28. He had 20 steals, 18 blocks and 53 rebounds that season.

Despite 20 turnovers, TCU women’s basketball outlasted Baylor’s late-game comeback, 64-59, to secure their first Big 12 championship title since 2005. The Frogs’ non-selfish offense produced four double-digit scorers: Hailey Van Lith, Sedona Prince, Hunter Donovyn and Madison Conner. Donovyn kicked off scoring for TCU with a three-pointer. After the bucket, scoring was slow with a strong defensive performance from both teams.
