It’s just about time to get out all your green (and rainbow colored!) craft supplies and start making St. Patrick’s Day crafts. Here are a few ideas to get you started, whether you’re making with one kid or a classroom. Make a Celtic knot with pipe cleaners with these instructions from Raise Curious Kids. It would be easy to make a whole garland to decorate the classroom if the kids get into it. They could be green, green and orange like shown here for the Irish flag, or in rainbow colors.

The other day I shared some more typically romantic Valentine’s Day cross stitch patterns with hearts, but if you don’t want to go that route, there are lots of other options. And some of them are still super cute, like We Beelong Together by Wow Pattern. This cute bee-decked pattern is 43 by 53 stitches and uses four colors, so it’s a quick and easy project even for new stitchers. If you want to express your love with a Gothic twist, you’ll want to stitch up the Til We Are Ghosts pattern.

It’s kind of a silly holiday, which is just the sort of thing kids (and teachers) love, so let’s explore from Groundhog Day activities for kids. Pigeon Coop Designs is a Canada-based Etsy shop that bills itself as having nature inspired cross stitch patterns and kits. I get a little of a folk art, retro feel from their designs, which emphasize natural landscapes and animals. In fact, I just shared one of their patterns the other day in the fox cross stitch collection, not realizing I also had them on the schedule to feature. Because they are based in Canada, a lot of the landscapes and landmarks featured are found in that country.
