The Barley Mow in Walderton, near Chichester, was among 168 lots in the latest auction held by Clive Emson Land and Property Auctioneers. Offered jointly with Fleurets, it was sold for £442,000 freehold after the firm’s auction which ended on Thursday, May 1.

The Team at St Mary's (Image: Hall and Woodhouse) A 16th century pub has reopened following a major renovation. Family-owned brewery Hall and Woodhouse has invested over £350,000 into the transformation of The St. Mary’s Gate Inn, Arundel. Dave Skinner, the pub’s landlord, also contributed an additional £150,000 to install a new kitchen, update the inn’s ten bedrooms and refresh the fixtures and fittings.

23 1/1 Thousands of runners took part in the Worthing Half Marathon this morning. The town centre was packed with racers and supporters for the annual event which started and ended on the town’s seafront next to Worthing Pier. James Baker from Chichester Runners and AC took the men’s win with a time of 1hour 11 minutes and 44 seconds.

A man has been banned from keeping animals (Image: RSPCA) A man who was recorded shouting and being aggressive towards his six large dogs has been banned from keeping animals for ten years. James Thorogood, of London Road, St Leonard’s, was convicted of three offences of failing to meet the needs of the dogs under the Animal Welfare Act 2006 after a trial.

People want to stop sediment being disposed of in a conservation area (Image: Jay Butler) Hundreds of people have urged the secretary of state to intervene to stop sediment being dumped close to a shoreline amid fears it is "smothering" marine life. Sussex Wildlife Trust wants to see an end to Brighton Marina disposing of dredged material in the Beachy Head West Marine Conservation Zone between the marina and Ovingdean.
