    Thursday afternoon, the Big 12 Conference and West Virginia revealed some kickoff times for the start of the 2025 season. The Mountaineers will begin the second era under Rich Rodriguez in the sunshine (hopefully) against Robert Morris at 2 p.m. ET. The game will be available to stream on ESPN+. In Week 2, WVU will make the trip over to Athens, Ohio, for a rare road game against a Group of Six opponent. The Ohio Bobcats get a somewhat later-than-expected kick of 4 p.m. and will be televised on ESPU.

    A lot of work needs to be done before the Charlotte Hornets can feel like they have a shot to truly compete in the Eastern Conference and not be looking ahead to "next year" by January. Health of the roster is the main ingredient, but adding more quality and reliable bench players is second on that list. Sure, adding a big-time superstar would be nice in all, but at this stage in the rebuild, that's just not feasible.

    Thursday morning, the official trailer for the College Football 26 video game dropped, and at about the 1:11 mark, EA Sports briefly highlighted the Backyard Brawl rivalry between West Virginia and Pitt. In the clip, Pitt quarterback Eli Holstein was rushing toward the end zone when he was met by what appears to be new Mountaineer safety Fred Perry, who followed Rich Rodriguez over from Jacksonville State.
