A doctor at Victoria General Hospital told the government Tuesday the reopening of the emergency room must include the return of an intensive care unit, if it is to be successful. “We need to make sure we have an intensive care unit in the building,” he said. “We used to have one before consolidation in 2017… and we’re not sure where you’re going to put one,” Dr. Kurt Penner told a town hall meeting attended by 50 people, including members of the public.
