A new route from Exeter airport is scheduled to launch next year. The airport has announced daily flights to and from Amsterdam, starting in March 2025. The route will be served by KLM Royal Dutch Airlines - the first time the airline has flown from Exeter. The airport said it was the first time in five years Exeter has served Amsterdam with bosses saying passengers will be able to travel to the international aviation hub of Schiphol airport in about 90 minutes.

Staff at Plymouth Trawler Agents (PTA) received redundancy letters on Friday morning informing them the business would cease trading on 17 May. The firm was set up in 1994 and has about 100 shareholders, a board of six directors and about 24 employees. PTA has been contacted for comment but has yet to reply.
