Scott H. Sicherer, MD, FAAP With so few OIT studies in adults, even this small group adds significantly to knowledge about OIT and “long-term” outcomes. It is significant also that the study focused on staple dietary foods, namely milk and egg, as well as peanut. It has to be appreciated that almost all of the participants were very sensitive at the start, with most reacting to what we would call “trace” exposure and having very strongly positive allergy tests.
