Who is paying for D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser's trips around the world? The 7News I-Team has been asking that question for months and has gotten different answers from the mayor's office. Through a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request, the 7News I-Team has uncovered who paid for the mayor's trip to Dubai in 2023, and it ended up costing a foreign country $61,930 in travel expenses, but the District has no record of how the expenses broke down for the mayor or four staff members.

FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. (7News) — Dominion is back, cutting down trees in Fairfax County. Earlier, it was clear-cutting trees over its entire easement along a 4-mile stretch on the historic Washington and Old Dominion trail in Vienna and Falls Church. WASHINGTON (7News) — The 7News I-Team has discovered that 11 D.C. Police officers have been revoked or removed from their normal duties due to investigations since March. 7News doesn't know how many of the 11 officers are being investigated by the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) and possibly the U.S. Department of Justice for their alleged involvement in PPP loan scams. Two former MPD police officers have already been convicted in loan scams. One former officer has already paid back $41,000.

WASHINGTON (7News) — Is transparency a huge issue in the D.C. government? No one would know about multiple DC Police Officers being investigated for illegal PPP loans unless the media kept asking questions. The 7News I-Team did just that in March of this year, and nothing was revealed by MPD.

In February, the state of Maryland couldn't tell the 7News I-Team how much of your money it was holding in unclaimed funds. Two days after our investigation aired, it found a number. Maryland is sitting on $2.6 billion. DC is holding around $600 million, and Virginia has almost $4 billion. It's not just the public's unclaimed money. The National Park Service inside the Department of Interior has money sitting with Virginia.
