    EVANGELINE PARISH, La. (KLFY) — A Mamou woman was arrested after a surveillance video allegedly showed her riding away from a burglary on a bicycle, authorities said. Kari Lynn Viator, 18, of Mamou, is charged with two counts of simple burglary, two counts of simple burglary of a vehicle and one count each of theft less than $1,000, theft of between $1,000-$5,000 and resisting an officer.

    LAKE CHARLES, La. (KLFY) — A Lake Charles man was arrested Thursday after allegedly exposing himself to a child, authorities said. Danny D. Dofflemyer, 63, Lake Charles, is charged with two counts of indecent behavior with a juvenile in connection with an alleged incident last weekend. Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched Sunday to a home in Lake Charles in reference to an indecent behavior complaint.

    JENNINGS, La. (KLFY) — A Jeff Davis Parish man could serve up to 5 years in prison for the death of a Jennings woman in a car crash in 2023. Jeffrey Lynn Meche, 65, of Roanoke, Louisiana, was sentenced to 10 years by Judge Steve Gunnell of the 31st Judicial District Court, who suspended all but 5 years, with the first 3 years to be served without benefit of probation, parole or suspension of sentence.

    LAKE CHARLES, La. (KLFY) — A Lake Charles man will spend 15 years in federal prison after pleading guilty to child pornography charges, authorities said. Kenneth Blake LeBlanc, 33, of Lake Charles, was sentenced in federal court yesterday to 180 months (15 years) in prison, followed by 15 years of supervised release. LeBlanc had pleaded guilty to one count of attempted transportation of child pornography.
