Andy, 76, started being involved with the society in about 2005 and took over as chairman last December. He first came to Harwich in 1967 for a winter training course, as the town was quiet then, before taking a permanent immigration job in the 1970s.

    Group the Tax Payers Alliance has created a Rich List for senior managers in the NHS as they say outcomes have “continued to deteriorate” in the NHS. In 2023 to 2024, there were 1,694 senior managers receiving more than £100,000 in total remuneration across 224 NHS trusts. This includes salary, expenses, benefits, bonuses and pension benefits. Of these, 1,557 had a salary of more than £100,000, with 279 having salaries between £200,000 and £300,000, and 17 having salaries above £300,000.
