Beginning Fall 2025, the University will institute a digital course materials program that will set a flat rate for students to access all required textbooks and course materials online, the Office of the Provost announced in a community-wide email Tuesday. The fee will not cover recommended materials for courses. Students will automatically be registered for the program when they register for classes, but they can opt out of the fee until the course add/drop date.

USC was among 60 universities “under investigation for antisemitic discrimination and harassment” that received a letter from the Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights warning them of potential “enforcement actions” if they are found to not be protecting Jewish students, according to a Monday Department of Education press release. The Office for Civil Rights enforces Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 for schools that receive federal funding from the Department of Education.
