BUFFALO, N.Y. — 2 On Your Side Investigates has obtained video appearing to show the series of hit-and-run crashes involving an Erie County Sheriff’s Official. Daniel “D.J.” Granville, chief of narcotics and intelligence, damaged eight vehicles last April. The video was first published by The Buffalo News. Granville does not appear to have been given a sobriety test. He was ticketed for driving the wrong way down a one-way street. He later paid a $150 fine for jaywalking.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — A Buffalo man who admitted to assaulting a law enforcement officer during the Jan. 6 insurrection was released on Monday evening from federal prison after receiving a pardon. Thomas Sibick, 39, was sentenced to 50 months in prison and incarcerated at FCI Elkton in Ohio. He pleaded guilty to one felony count of assaulting, resisting, or impeding certain officers and one misdemeanor count of theft.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Despite initial talk of private investment and crowdfunding, Buffalo Pro Soccer is seeking the assistance of taxpayer dollars to help fund construction of a new soccer-specific stadium. Documents obtained and reviewed by 2 On Your Side Investigates show Club President Peter Marlette Jr. entered into an agreement with Upstate Strategic Advisors to lobby Empire State Development and Gov. Kathy Hochul’s office.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — A downstate judge ruled Tuesday that the court will consider arguments by news organizations that secret files of the Buffalo Diocese should be released. Last year, the diocese filed a lawsuit in court attempting to prevent the New York State Attorney General’s Office from releasing to the public documents it subpoenaed as part of its investigation.
