    #1 · Okay, to set this up I bought my first Swiss made automatic watch about a year ago from Jomashop. It was an older model, new in box, Tissot Le Locle chronometer with a 2824 inside, which I suppose translates to new/old stock. It ran very well over the first few months before it began to constantly lose at least 12 seconds a day no matter how it was placed; well outside COSC standards.     Ball makes higher end divers and other tritium watches. There’s a lot of Deep Blue fans on here for their more affordable tritium watches. There almost always a significant discount code for their website. I don’t have any experience with either of their products, though, so I can’t actually recommend anything.

    Thank you, as we know there are many possibilities. As you say it could be the color of the date wheel. Factory U4R36s generally ship without any day wheel so the installer can pick the day wheel that matches the crown location. Gray non-diver vs black diver dial rings is probably the reason. Pinion height is another possibility. Aside from people guessing what it could be, I am hoping someone here definitively knows for sure.
