HOUSTON (KIAH) — There’s a lot more to Mai’s Restaurant in Houston’s Midtown area than it’s 3 a.m. closing time on Fridays and Saturdays. But the late-night bites of authentic Vietnamese food are a perk. “Anyone who’s out and about in the town, for whatever reason, they come here, because it’s one of the few restaurants that are still open for dine-in,” Mai’s General Manager Anna Pham said.

HOUSTON (KIAH) — Given final approval by the Texas Legislature on Sunday, a bill that bans the sale of any product containing any amount of THC has not been signed into law by Governor Greg Abbott as of Wednesday. That’s despite the urging of Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick who lobbied state lawmakers to pass the bill. “We can’t regulate it,” he said of THC products and the stores that sell them. “We don’t have enough police to check every store when there are 8,000 to 9,000 of them.

HOUSTON (KIAH) The Texas Department of Transportation wants every person in every car to Click it or Ticket. It’s the twenty-third year for the seatbelt-wearing awareness campaign of that slogan, and like in other years, the Mills family from Spring is supporting it. On October 28, 2017, David and Wendy Mills’s daughter Kailee was riding to a Halloween party with friends. During the ride, Kailee unbuckled her seatbelt to scoot closer a friend in the back seat with her so they could take a selfie.
