HOUSTON (KIAH) — The Campus Ministries office at the University of St. Thomas in Midtown doubled as a Conclave watch party on Wednesday as they watched the selection of the new pope. Alyssa Bursch, a freshman on that campus in Houston’s Montrose neighborhood, spent the last three hours she had before a final exam studying there while also keeping an eye on a screen at the front of the room that carried a live video stream from Vatican City.

HOUSTON (KIAH) — Starting on Wednesday, air travelers will have to have a REAL ID or face time-consuming extra screening at airport security checkpoints. The Transportation and Security Administration says some passengers who don’t have REAL ID may miss their flights because of the extra screening, and there’s no guarantee that TSA officers will even be able to verify their identities. For people in that boat, TSA has a new set of recommendations.
