With the Pittsburgh Penguins entering the offseason for a third consecutive year without a playoff appearance, TribLive will offer Penguins A to Z, a player-by-player look at all 58 individuals signed to an NHL contract - including those whose deals do not begin until future seasons - with the organization. Starting with Noel Acciari and going on through to Philip Tomasino (regrettably, there is no Z on the payroll), every player will be profiled in alphabetical order.

The Pittsburgh Penguins re-signed forward Joona Koppanen to a one-year, two-way contract that carries a salary cap hit of $775,000. Koppanen was scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent on July 1. He initially joined the Penguins by signing a two-year, two-way contract with a salary cap hit of $775,000 during the 2023 offseason. A left-handed shot, the 27-year-old Koppanen appeared in 11 NHL games this past regular season and scored one goal, the first of his career at the NHL level.

Before he was a dominant All-Star power forward who helped usher in the Pittsburgh Penguins' first great championship era during the early 1990s, Kevin Stevens was a newcomer from Boston trying to get used to his new surroundings. Steve Reich helped Stevens on that front. "He was a true-and-true Pittsburgh guy," Stevens said. "If I needed baseball tickets, if I needed football tickets, I called Steve. He was the guy that I went through. He knew everything in Pittsburgh, knew everybody in Pittsburgh.

RT @keeperofthecup: Arrived in Florida. Game 6 #stanleycup final coming tomorrow. @nhl @HockeyHallFame https://t.co/CH8v2FBb9Q

Quite a goal from "Bugsy" Watson. Also, finding footage of the Penguins from this era is very rare.

1/9/71: PIT @ TOR: Bryan Watson, 2nd of the season (7th of career) Assisted by Dean Prentice and Ron Schock https://t.co/B8L3uogKIK

Mr. Reich was the agent for many ex-Penguins players, including Mario Lemieux, Kevin Stevens, Ron Francis, Tom Barrasso. He represented current Rangers forward Vince Trocheck too. Grew up in Scott Township. Graduated from Chartiers Valley. A kind gentleman above all else.

It is with the heaviest of hearts that O2K Sports Management announces the passing of agent Steve Reich. Steve was an incredible father, friend, and mentor. He will be deeply missed by all🕊️ https://t.co/TuUa0NQhPD
