Rome’s Pride Festival returns this year, bringing a colorful blend of activities including a Pride March, a festival in the park, drag shows and musical performers. This year marks the 4th official Rome Pride Festival and organizers have been hard at work keeping up with suggestions from the community as well as negotiating all the logistics that come with putting on a big festival.

If you want to hear some of the biggest hits of the 80s or just want to go downtown and do some people-watching, you're in luck. The first First Friday Concert of the season takes place June 6 and will feature a popular 80s tribute as well as plenty to see and do. As always, the Town Green will be the setting for the free outdoor concert and Guardians of the Jukebox are the headliners.

A week-long cycling adventure will begin in Rome on Saturday, May 31, and Rome residents of all cycling abilities are encouraged to participate. The Bicycle Ride Across Georgia 2025 event will take place May 31 through June 7. It will begin in Rome and end at Lake Hartwell, winding its way through some of North Georgia’s most scenic landscapes. This year’s route will showcase the diverse geography of northern Georgia.

A group of friends recently undertook a wet, muddy adventure with their dogs and had the most amazing time. Ten residents of Rome and surrounding areas just completed the OneWorld Canine Obstacle Race in Anniston, Alabama. Although it was a challenging course and many of the participants had never done anything like that before, they still had a blast and can’t wait to do it again.

Yancy, author of the Woven Branches book series, will be signing copies of “The Book of Ruth” on Saturday, May 31 at The Screen Door Room on Broad Street from 1-3 p.m.“The Book of Ruth” is the third installment of the popular “Woven Branches” series. Mayor Ruth “Ruthless” Blakely rules over the fictional South Georgia town of Noeware with an iron fist. She is joined in book three of the Woven Branches series by a very diverse cast of colorful characters.
