It is with sorrow that we share the news of the passing of Shaykh Abu Ishaq al-Houweny, a prominent Egyptian scholar of hadīth and student of the late muhaddith, Shaykh Muhammad Nasir al-Din al-Albani. [1]The senior scholar, 68, had lived in Doha, Qatar for at least the past decade, after relocating due to the Sisi regime’s crackdown on Muslim leaders from 2013 onwards.
