Sitting on a flattened curve of the Singapore River, Robertson Quay is most often associated with historic shophouses, luxury condos and its restaurant-lined waterfront. Change has come in sporadic waves over the years. In the ’90s, it was where the city went to party, from the massively crowded clubs bunched along Mohamed Sultan Road to the now-defunct Butter Factory and the original Zouk club, housed in three 1920s riverfront godowns, or warehouses.
