AbstractAndrogen deprivation therapy (ADT) for prostate cancer is associated with an increased risk of dementia, including Alzheimer’s disease (AD). The mechanistic connection between ADT and AD-related cognitive impairment in patients with prostate cancer remains elusive. We established a clinically relevant prostate cancer–bearing AD mouse model to explore this. Both tumor-bearing and ADT induce complex changes in immune and inflammatory responses in peripheral blood and in the brain.

AbstractAtomically dispersed Pt-group metals are promising as nanocatalysts because of their unique geometric structures and ultrahigh atomic utilization. However, loading isolated Pt-group metals in single-atom alloys (SAAs) with distinctive bimetallic sites is challenging. In this study, we present amorphous mesoporous Ni boride (Ni-B) as an ideal substrate to uniformly disperse Pt atoms with tunable loadings (1.7 to 12.2 wt %).

AbstractIn high-entropy materials, local chemical fluctuation from multiple elements inhabiting the same crystallographic site plays a crucial role in their unique properties. Using atomic-resolution chemical mapping, we identified the respective contributions of different element characteristics on the local chemical fluctuation of high-entropy structures in thermoelectric materials.
